With the belief that life and faith are not dichotomous, Intertwine Youth Ministry Collective seeks to offer a safe space for youth (grades 6-12) to build relationships with others, pursue a life lived in Christ, and integrate faith into daily living. This inclusive and loving space offers an arena for youth to move closer to their identity as Imago Dei while belonging to a community and participating in the ways of Jesus. We gather for a mix of fun, fellowship study, prayer, service, and growth. Intertwine YMC is a collaborative youth ministry between local Christian churches in Delaware. Intertwine YMC’s current churches are:

William Street United Methodist Church (28 W. William St, Delaware, OH)

First Presbyterian Church of Delaware (73 W. Winter St, Delaware, OH)

Zion United Church of Christ (51 W. Central Ave, Delaware, OH)

Asbury United Methodist Church (55 W Lincoln Ave, Delaware,. OH)

 

 

Rev. Kara Jones, Youth Pastor

 

Kara has been serving professionally in youth ministry since 2001 in a number of denominations and churches in Central Ohio. She is an ordained Deacon (clergy) in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and is the founding youth pastor of Intertwine Youth Ministry Collective which partners First Presbyterian Church with William Street United Methodist Church, Zion United Church of Christ, and Asbury United Methodist Church. Kara has a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Arts in Counseling Ministries degree from Methodist Theological School in Ohio.

Kara loves engaging in faith conversations, particularly with middle and high school youth. In addition to serving as youth pastor of Intertwine YMC, Kara is also the community minister and manager at Common Ground Free Store Ministries and teaches private music lessons at Delaware Music Center. Kara’s hobbies including indoor rock climbing, kayaking, and stunt-kite flying.
