We offer Sunday school for children during worship from Rally Day in the fall until May when the school year ends. Children are invited to go to Sunday school before the sermon, and they usually return to the sanctuary before the end of worship.
Adult Sunday School
A variety of facilitators lead Sunday School every week at 9am in the Campbell Addition. Some of our focusses from the past year include Honoring God’s Diversity, Breathe, and The Message of Jesus: Words That Changed the World. In 2026, we’ve introduced Reading the Bible in a Year that meets the first Sunday of every month. All who want to join can read along at any point! Each month we provide a document of daily/weekly readings in the old and new testament, important passages, historical significance, artwork, music, and prayers that coincide with the current topics.
Middle School & High School
Grades 6-12 are invited to meet at 9:30am in the library to get a sneak peak of the upcoming scripture lesson that will be discussed during worship. Our youth are also invited to be a par of ChimeTime where they get to learn how to ring chimes during service!
Pre-K & Elementary
Pre-K-5th grade are invited to leave for Sunday School following the Young Disciples Moment during worship. We have a table in the Sanctuary where youth can sit, draw, and do crafts!
Confirmation
As a church we are committed to teach, mentor, and support our youth in a faith formation that will last them a lifetime. Confirmation is a very important time for our 7th and 8th grade students to begin discerning their identity as Christians in this world. Our confirmands walk through three intensive phases: Biblical and Theological Education, Worship Leadership, and Community Service. We offer confirmation every other year and celebrate their official membership of the church during worship once each year.
Intertwine
Middle school and high school youth are also invited to be part of Intertwine, a youth group that includes FPC and three other local churches (William Street UMC, Zion UCC, and Asbury UMC). The group gathers twice a month. This group creates space for high school-only conversations periodically at “Fireside Chats.” See our Intertwine page for more information on how youth can be involved!
