We are called to share the love of Christ as members of the Delaware community, and support our many local non-profit agencies.

Free Carry-Out Meals

We continue to free provide meals to some of the most vulnerable members in our community. In 2020, COVID-19 changed the way we provide to the community by introducing FPC Carry-Out meals to replace our in-person Fourth Thursday meals during the pandemic.  Free Carry-Out Meals are currently provided twice a month, the second Sunday and fourth Thursday of each month, from 5:00pm-5:30pm at the back doors of the church. In addition to our curbside pickup, we deliver to various communities within Delaware, but cannot facilitate individual deliveries at this time. No sign up or registration required, just come on by between the posted times. All are welcome!

“Fourth Thursday Meal” started in August 2007 and is continuing into its 18th year as a strong mission program as Free Carry Out Meals to the greater Delaware community. As of 2025, we served almost 4,000 meals! This program provides a free meal for families year-round including a special Thanksgiving meal bag and Christmas dinner. The deacons also deliver meals to our members who are home bound and unable to travel.

Carry-Out Meals and menus are posted on our FPC Facebook Page and on our home page under News & Events.

Thanksgiving in a Bag

Thanksgiving in a Bag is an extension of our Carry Out Meal program providing all the essentials a family of four will need for a Thanksgiving feast. Thanksgiving 2024 was our 4th year continuing Thanksgiving in a Bag with over 200 meal bags served to our community. Each bag contained turkey, potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, cranberry sauce, and an entire pie!

We give a huge thank you to Asbury United Methodist Church, Old Stone Presbyterian Church, William St. United Methodist Church, and Zion United Church of Christ for their amazing efforts in preparing entire pies for every bag. Thank you to Jack Kahaian’s Thrivent Financial Group for their generosity and giving. We thank Scout Troops 318, 7318, and Cub Scout Pack 318 for their amazing help in preparing meal bags for this weekend. We thank the Delaware Police Department officers who will volunteer their time and help us direct traffic.

We also thank all of you, our church members, and our Delaware community for your amazing support of this ministry! Your contributions, assistance, and help in raising awareness is vital to providing Thanksgiving meals to families in our city. We couldn’t do this without all of you.
