Delaware, Ohio is located in Delaware County just north of Columbus. It may be a smaller city, but it’s one of the fastest growing counties in Ohio and the entire nation. Our city offers the best there is in life: tree-lined streets with beautiful homes both old and new, unique shopping and dining locations, and the cultural and educational environment of Ohio Wesleyan University, a liberal arts university. In addition, there are numerous fairs and festivals, including the Little Brown Jug Horse Race, the Delaware County Fair, Delaware Arts Festival, and much more! The Central Ohio Symphony, located in Delaware, performs several concerts each year in historic Gray Chapel on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus.
You’ll find an abundance of enjoyable things to do in the area. Perkins Observatory, one of the oldest observatories in the nation, offers an exciting and educational stargazing experience that few other cities can duplicate.
The Columbus Zoo, located in southern Delaware County, is one of the top zoos in the nation. Recreational opportunities abound, and the area is home to a multitude of antique shops. Add this to our close-knit community atmosphere, and you have one of the best places to live in the nation! First Presbyterian Church of Delaware is located close to Delaware’s historic downtown and within easy walking distance of Ohio Wesleyan University. Other wonderful cities in Delaware County are Powell, Sunbury and parts of Columbus, Dublin, and Westerville to name a few.
